Hostibly’s Founding Story
It began with a missed cleaning at an Airbnb in Canberra, and evolved into a platform focused on simplifying vacation rental operations for hosts everywhere.
After checking in at Daniel’s Cozy Cabin, I realized the rubbish from the previous guest hadn’t been cleared out. Although Daniel quickly resolved it, he explained that without a system for tracking cleaner schedules and tasks, it’s easy for details to slip through the cracks—especially as you grow your property portfolio.
That conversation highlighted a key gap: while OTAs like Airbnb excel at bringing in bookings, they fall short in addressing day-to-day management. Cleanings, repairs, guest communications, and property information often require juggling multiple tools, spreadsheets, or extensive manual oversight.
Determined to solve these behind-the-scenes challenges, Daniel and I created Hostibly—a platform specifically designed to take the hassle out of operational tasks. Our goals:
Eight months later, Daniel was using Hostibly full-time, and the impact was unmistakable: higher revenue via repeat bookings, improved guest satisfaction, and hours saved each week—time that could be reinvested into more strategic tasks or growing the business.
That’s how Hostibly was born: out of a simple, real-world situation that revealed a need for better, more cohesive tools. We focus on what happens after a guest clicks “Book,” helping property managers eliminate chaos and focus on delivering outstanding stays.
